About me


Alison Rolfe (MBACP), PhD, PG Dip Couns., BA Hons


My professional qualification as a counsellor is a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (University of Birmingham, 2002).

I have worked as a counsellor in a number of different settings, including:

  • NHS
  • Student counselling
  • Workplace counselling.


I have training and experience in both brief therapy and longer-term counselling work.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working towards accreditation. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I undergo regular professional development training and my own supervision.

I also work as a Senior Lecturer in Counselling Psychology. I have a doctorate (PhD) in Applied Social Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.

I aim to be sensitive to the cultural and ethnic origins of individuals and to people’s religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
